Comfortspain is the commercial name of Martin Shoe Agency S.L., a Spanish sales agency founded in 2004 in Elche, Alicante. We represent a curated network of 22+ Spanish footwear factories on behalf of international brands — one desk, four languages, three product lines.

Who we are

We sit between your buying team and the Spanish factory floor.

Martin Shoe Agency S.L., trading as Comfortspain, is a sales agency — not a factory, not a design studio, not a trading company. We represent Spanish footwear workshops commercially, we run our own catalogue of 600+ ready-to-manufacture models, and we manage every step between the initial brief and the final shipment. Our customers are footwear brands, retail chains and importers in 40+ countries. Our factories are all in Spain.

What we *do*

We represent 22+ Spanish footwear factories on behalf of international buying teams. We curate the ready-to-manufacture catalogue (600+ models across comfort, barefoot and BIOS sandal lines). We translate briefs across language, market expectation and industrial reality. We handle commercial negotiation, sample logistics, production calendar management, quality control and freight booking. We do not invoice as a middleman markup — our commission is factored into the FOB you see.

What we *do not* do

We do not design collections for our own label. We do not operate factories. We do not produce outside Spain. We do not serve fast-fashion footwear, performance athletic footwear, or sub-€12 FOB price points — these are categories where Portugal, Turkey, Vietnam or China win on fundamentals, and we would not add value.

The *team*

Commercial: four sales managers, native in English, German, French and Spanish, all based in Elche. Product development: two product developers, one specialised in comfort and BIOS, one in barefoot and custom. Quality: a three-person in-house QC team covering sampling oversight and production inspection across all partner workshops. Total: eleven people plus freelance fit-testers on retainer.

Why an *agency* and not a direct factory

A single factory shows you what it makes. An agency shows you what the cluster makes. For a buyer building a comfort or barefoot range, the right answer is almost always spread across 3–5 workshops — a best-in-class sole source here, a barefoot last there, a Goodyear-welt specialist over in La Rioja. Managing five factory relationships from Hamburg or London is a full-time job. We do it for you.

The principles we run on.

Five rules the team has settled on over two decades of matching international briefs to Spanish workshops. They are not marketing copy. They are the reasons partners and customers stay.

No middlemen stacked on middlemen.

One agency, one contract, one calendar. Our commission sits inside the FOB you quote at — no double-margin, no surprise 'service fees'. If the shoe costs €18 FOB to you, the factory receives €18 minus our fixed commission — fully disclosed at kick-off.

If the brief does not fit Spain, say so.

We turn down roughly one in four first enquiries. If a brief is genuinely better served by Portuguese, Italian, Turkish or Asian production, we say it up front and refer you where we can. Integrity beats a one-off commission.

On-site QC, inline, not final-only.

Quality failures discovered at final inspection are quality failures that shipped. Our QC team visits at 30%, 60% and 100% of production. Issues get fixed on the line, not patched at the port.

Your last is yours.

When we develop a custom last for your brand, the last, pattern and tech pack belong to you. Full stop. They are stored at our partner factory and cannot be used for another customer without your written consent. NDA signed at kick-off, standard.

Show, do not tell.

The showroom in Elche is open year-round. The factories are an hour away. If we cannot show you the workshop that makes your shoe, you should not be buying from us.

Two international trade fairs a year, two catalogues in hand, and a permanent showroom in Elche the other 340 days. If you are a buyer in the comfort, barefoot or wellness-footwear space, there is no good reason we have not met in person yet.

What is the legal entity behind Comfortspain?
Martin Shoe Agency S.L. (CIF B53292066), a Spanish limited liability company. Registered address: Calle La Tramoia 6, 03203 Elche, Alicante, Spain. VAT-registered in Spain. Trading name: Comfortspain.
How long has the agency been operating?
Since 2004. The founding team had prior experience in Spanish footwear export going back to the 1990s. The Comfortspain trading name and the curated-agency model were launched in 2016.
Who owns the company?
Martin Shoe Agency S.L. is privately held by its founders, with no external investors. No private equity, no industrial holding company. We are the shop.
In what languages can we do business?
English, German, French and Spanish — all in-house, all native-level. We read, quote, invoice, contract and run sampling calendars in all four. For other languages (Italian, Dutch, Scandinavian) we work through translators when necessary.
Are you affiliated with a factory group?
No. We are a fully independent sales agency. Our commercial relationships are non-exclusive with our partner factories, and our partner factories are non-exclusive with us. This matters: we can route your brief to whichever partner fits best, without factory-politics constraints.
Do you hold professional insurance?
Yes. Commercial agent professional liability insurance, cargo insurance on samples in transit, and full legal-entity coverage under Spanish commercial-agency law (Ley 12/1992). Insurance certificates available on request for procurement compliance.
